Tersia King Learning Academy Pre-School

Early Childhood Development Centre - Our ECD centre is more than just a drop-off pre-school. We provide a secure, stimulating and flexible environment in which children may develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively.

Message from our Principal

Education is about building character, enriching minds and creating a special environment where each child feels loved, safe, and happy.

I want each child to develop the skills that will help him/her to achieve his/her full potential.
I want to encourage them to:
  • Be curious, ask questions and love to discover the world around them.
  • Develop self-confidence, understand their feelings and realise their own potential.
  • Learn to make friends, have compassion and be sensitive to others to make our community a better place.

As principal, I love to inspire and encourage my staff to become the best teachers that they can be. I aim to enthuse and challenge them to be inventive and imaginative in their day to day tasks. I believe that having quality, inspired and passionate teachers is essential for our school's success.

Our pre-school stands out as a lightbouse in our community because of the team effort of myself, as principal, and my teachers, with the wonderful support of our parents.

Welcome to our ECD centre

Early Childhood Development (ECD) can be defined as the physical, cognitive and social development that a child experiences prior to the learner reaching his/her preparatory school entering age. ECD therefore lays the groundwork for successful learning supporting the child to progress into, and adapt to, formal schooling.

Our approach is one of recognising the inherent holistic nature of the child thus seeking to develop all aspects of every child being social, emotional, intellectual, aesthetic and physical potential. This is implemented through active participation in a structured programme.
