Welcome to our Pre-Primary

Little learners, big beginnings

Our Pre-Primary classrooms are bright, inviting spaces designed to spark wonder. We believe the earliest years of education are the most formative, and so we pour our best into this phase: our dedicated, experienced educators, our warmest care, our most thoughtfully planned environment.

Through structured play, creative exploration and consistent, gentle routine, TKLA’s ECD practitioners lay the academic and emotional foundations that set learners up for success in Grade 1 and far beyond. Every child is known by name, known by heart.

Our approach

How we build little learners

01

Play-based learning

Children learn through structured play, exploration and stories, building skills that go far beyond the classroom.

02

School readiness

Early literacy, numeracy and the social routines that prepare every child for a confident start to Grade 1.

03

Safe & nurturing

Small groups, warm educators and a secure environment where every child feels seen and cared for.

04

Qualified educators

Caring early-years specialists who are dedicated to your child's wellbeing and growth.

05

Individual attention

Small class sizes mean every child is genuinely known, supported and encouraged to grow.

06

Holistic development

Head, heart and hands: we develop the whole child, cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically.

Inside the classroom

What little learners explore

Our Pre-Primary programme covers eight key areas, building a comprehensive foundation for every child’s growth and school readiness, aligned with Department of Basic Education guidelines.

Language & literacy

Early reading, writing and communication skills, built through listening, storytelling and daily conversation.

Numeracy

Numbers, patterns and hands-on mathematics that develop problem-solving, logical thinking and early numeracy.

Creative arts

Drawing, crafts and imaginative play that spark self-expression and build confidence through making and creating.

Physical development

Gross and fine motor skills developed through movement, outdoor play and active exploration of the environment.

Social & emotional

Building relationships, empathy and emotional wellbeing so every child feels secure, seen and ready to engage.

Cognitive & perceptual

Thinking, reasoning and sensory development fostered through curiosity, investigation and structured discovery.

Music & movement

Rhythm, song and coordinated movement that build confidence, coordination and a joy of self-expression through the body.

Life skills & school readiness

Everyday independence, routines and habits that give every child a confident, settled start when they move to Grade 1.
