Our Story

Serving Tembisa for over three decades

TKLA learners on the school grounds

Founded in 1991 in the heart of Tembisa, Tersia King Learning Academy was built on a conviction that quality education should be accessible to every child, regardless of background.

Over 30 years later, TKLA has grown into a thriving Pre-Primary, Primary and High School: three phases under one roof, united by a commitment to academic excellence, character and community.

Today, TKLA is UMALUSI-accredited, part of the ThriveEd network of independent schools, and proud to continue its mission of enlightening minds across Gauteng.

About ThriveEd

A ThriveEd Learning Community

Tersia King Learning Academy is proud to be part of ThriveEd, an independent school group united by one bold purpose: delivering an education to thrive, for all.

Unlike traditional school chains, ThriveEd doesn’t replicate a single model across campuses. Each learning community is built with its own identity, vision and culture, empowering school leaders to serve their communities with creativity and care. All ThriveEd schools are united by the Thriveway framework: a rigorous, research-based approach to educational excellence that keeps every child at the centre.
